#FreshFriday Suzie Soprano "My Walk"

Written By: Erika Marie

Suzie Soprano had to find her walk when it came to this rap industry. Being born in Chicago, then raise in Detroit the artist endure having to watch her mother take care of three children alone, sleep in cars and also been taken advantage of.  Suzie kept her faith with God and elevated.

Once she elevated from her personal issues she had to endure. Suzie Soprano was ready to enter the rap industry, but as a female rapper this can be extra competitive most of the time.

I think being a woman in this industry is a hardship within itself. Especially since I'm not necessarily the "Nicki Minaj" type

Suzie Soprano believes she has so much more to prove being a female artist, not only because this is a male dominated field, but also because some men 9/10 expect something from you in this industry. She is determined not to let the stereotypes get in the way, because true talent can make light of these situations. She had some great musical role models in her family. Suzie Soprano’s father sang and played instruments behind Ray Parker Jr and he was also a part of a group called QT Hush back in the 80s. Her mother enjoyed writing poetry. Music has always been part of her life, but her brother is the one who took her by the wing and taught her how to rap.

When asked to compare yourself to an already established artist. The artist answered  “With all due respect, I feel like I'm on everybody's level. Lyrically at least”
Suzie Soprano’s single “My Walk” has already hit the airwaves and heavily in rotation in the Southwest Florida area. The artist wants to remain humble because this is just the start. The single “My Walk’ is not only about Suzie Soprano’s journey. She wants everyone that listens to the single to understand their own walk in life while having fun and being fly.
